Synectics Solutions is offering an in-depth insight into fraud and financial crime in an age of digital identity by hosting a pioneering national conference later this year.

The leading Fintech, predictive analytics and data services company is bringing together some of the finance and insurance industry’s key speakers, knowledge and experience for the one-day event on September 26th 2019 (9.30am-5.30pm) at the London Hilton Tower Bridge.

Key speakers at the event include Shaked Vax, IBM Global Strategist for Digital Identity and Mark Button, Head of Fraud Faculty at Portsmouth University.

Shaked will deliver a keynote speech where he will discuss opportunities to advance financial crime prevention strategies through the successful implementation of digital identity.

Mark Button, Fraud Faculty Director at University of Portsmouth, will quantify the true costs of external fraud for UK financial services organisations as a result of research carried out by the university.

Other keynote speakers on the day include Rob Malcomson, Head of Cross Government Fraud (Data Pilots and Analytics), Matt Burrell, Policy Advisor on E-ID for the Association of British Insurers, Jonathan Middleton, Head of Digital Policy Delivery for E-ID, Cybercrime Consultant Peter Taylor and Keith McGill, Head of Fraud and ID at Equifax.

During the day, delegates will be able to explore the ramifications of fraud and financial crime in a world where a digital identity scheme is widely adopted to authenticate people in the UK.

The conference will analyse whether the UK can deliver a robust digital ID scheme that can be widely adopted by financial services and government/public sector agencies.

It will also focus on what challenges around the right to anonymity will resurface and whether a digital ID scheme will improve our ability to address fraud and financial crime.

Richard Wood, Business Development Director at Synectics Solutions, will highlight a collaborative approach to data strategy which could push digital authentication methods beyond just authenticating the person to delivering an accurate picture of risk for individuals.

Richard said: “We are delighted to host this national conference which will bring together delegates from across the financial landscape to focus on digital ID – a very topical and relevant subject for financial organisations at present.

“Successfully delivering an electronic method of authenticating people has been promoted as offering significant potential in combating the scourge of fraud and financial crime that has plagued many financial services companies and government agencies for many years.

“Understanding the latest developments that are underway in making this opportunity a reality will be essential to all those tasked with helping to ensure their organisations are prepared for the adoption of E-ID.”

Delegates will be able to choose from a series of breakout sessions in the afternoon, delivered by the keynote speakers.

Guests will also have the opportunity to network throughout the day and lunch and refreshments will be provided as part of the conference package.

Richard added:“Organisations who are supporting the event and our key speakers have a wealth of experience and expertise in this area of fraud and financial crime.

“The range of presentations, together with the mix of breakout sessions, will give everyone a fascinating insight into the challenges we face and the potential solutions which can help to tackle financial crime in a world of digital identity.”
