Offer to purchase Port Vale Football Club

The Board of Directors at Synectics Solutions has today confirmed that an offer has been made to buy Port Vale Football Club.

Confirmation of the £1.25m offer was made in the press following speculation on social media and it underlines the company’s firm commitment to Burslem and the people within the local community.

No decision on the offer has currently been made by the current owner, but Synectics Solutions’ Managing Director, Carol Shanahan, said she believed it was a “strong offer that benefited from the support of the community”.

Carol added that in no way would the offer to buy the Club affect the focus of Synectics in providing world-class data driven software solutions.

She said: “As a passionate Port Vale fan I've been saddened to see the demise of the club in recent years, and this has been exacerbated by the team's recent relegation. I believe that with the right leadership, the club has the ability to be the beating heart of the community and to engage with the people of Burslem once more, and so I've taken the decision, alongside my Board of Directors, to make an approach to purchase the club.

“We are in liaison as we speak and so nothing is yet agreed, but we have already developed connections with a team of experts to support us should we be successful.

“Our relationship with Port Vale FC - if there is to be one - will be distinct and kept separate in all ways. It's simply another demonstration of doing what we believe is the right thing and doing it with heart.”
